Poem of the Moment

All alone as I sit on the cusp of a new year
a new era
With so much love to give but no one to seek it
or see me
I used to ask how will I find the people for me
that flipped
Because now I ask how will people find me
if they need it.

The internet brings the globe closer together
The I-phone a portal to my own perspective
but it’s a shadow of the connectedness we have
scrolling reflexes to tap into something to feel alive
or a laugh
or just distraction from the thoughts of our lonesome lives
till the feelings subside
