  • Self-worth

    It feels like others rarely check-in
    or ask where to lend a hand
    as if I don’t need a friend
    as if I don’t want others to understand

    Perhaps some think I’ll always be fine
    and I don’t reach-out every-time I cry
    but save few I know I’m taking the lead
    and I always show up when someone’s in need

    Perhaps I’m outgrowing
    the lives separate from mine
    and truly seeing
    who appreciates the time
